Dear [Recipients Name],

It must be a difficult time as you try and come to terms with your illness and the amount of treatment that is required for a complete recovery. I have been praying for you since you told me about your illness and know that you are always in my thoughts.

I still smile to think of all the fun we have had, especially last year's attempt at kayaking. We really must try it again, maybe we can stay dry on our second attempt.

Let me know when you feel up to having some visitors as I want to come round, I have some gossip to tell you. If you do need anything doing in the mean time do not hesitate to give me a call.

Sincerely,
